How to extract pages from a PDF
- Open the PDF you want to take pages from.
- Choose the pages you need. Every page starts chosen, so select Clear and tick a few, or untick the ones you do not want.
- Check the count beside the button. It says how many pages the new PDF will hold, and whether that is still every page in the file.
- Select Extract, then Download to save the new PDF.
Extract pages without changing the original
PDFCheetah saves a separate file. The PDF you opened is not altered, so you can extract a different set of pages straight afterwards without opening it again.
One PDF, not one file per page
The pages you choose come out as a single document, in the order they appear in the original. If you want a separate file for each page or for each range, use Split PDF instead.

- Is my PDF uploaded to extract the pages?
- No. The file is read and the new PDF is written in your browser, on this device. Download the result, or use Share on a phone.
- How do I choose which pages to extract?
- Every page starts chosen. Uncheck the ones you do not want, or select Clear and then pick the few you do. You can also type page numbers such as 1-4, 7 into the Pages field above the previews.
- Do I get one PDF or one file per page?
- One PDF, holding the pages you chose in the order they appear in the original. For a separate file per page or per range, use Split PDF instead.
- Does extracting pages change my original file?
- No. A new PDF is written and the file you opened is untouched, so you can extract a different set of pages straight afterwards without opening it again.
- What might not survive in the extracted PDF?
- Digital signatures stop being valid, because a new document is written. Leaving any page out also drops bookmarks, form fields and the tagged reading order, and every link that jumped to another page inside the document stops working, including links to pages you kept. Keep every page and all of that is carried across. Either way, an action attached to a page or a note — one that could run a program, send a form somewhere or open another file — is taken out. Actions stored on the document itself are not what that removes.
