Who we are

PDFCheetah is a set of PDF tools operated by an individual, not a company. The tools run inside your browser rather than on our servers, which shapes most of what follows.

The service is still in beta

Tools carrying a Beta label work and are tested, but they have not completed the full device and assistive-technology certification a finished release gets. Check the output before you rely on it for anything that matters, particularly for legal, financial or archival documents.

We may add tools, change how they work, or withdraw one, and we do not promise the site will always be available.

Your files are yours, and they stay with you

You keep every right in the documents you open here. We claim nothing in them, and because processing happens on your device we do not receive them in the first place.

The other side of that: we hold no copy, so we cannot recover a file for you. Keep your originals, and save the result somewhere of your own once a tool has produced it.

How you may use it

Use PDFCheetah for anything lawful. Please do not:

• use it to produce or distribute unlawful material,
• remove password protection from a document you have no right to open,
• attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the site or the systems behind it,
• resell the service or present it as your own.

No accounts

PDFCheetah has no accounts. There is nothing to sign up for, nothing to sign in to, and no profile kept about you — every tool on the site works without one. If that ever changes, these terms will say so before it does.

Payment

Nothing is for sale at the moment, and there is no way to pay us. Every tool on the site is free to use. If that changes, the price and the terms attached to it will be shown to you before you are asked to pay anything, and these terms will be updated to cover it.

Our responsibility to you

The service is provided as it is. We work to keep the tools correct and well tested, but we do not warrant that they are free of faults or that a given document will convert exactly as you expect.

We are responsible for loss we cause you where we fail to use reasonable care and skill, but we are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses such as lost profit, lost business or lost data where you are using the site for business purposes.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything written here.

The site itself

The PDFCheetah name, design, and the software behind the site belong to us. Using the tools does not transfer any of that to you. The tools are built on open-source components, whose own licenses we honor.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product changes. The date at the top tells you when they last changed. If a change materially affects you, we will make that clear rather than expecting you to spot it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes fall to the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you keep the protection of any mandatory law of the country you live in, and may be able to bring proceedings there.
