PDF size limits on Indian upload forms

The 16 Indian government, exam and university upload forms below cap each PDF at between 100 KB and 2 MB, each limit quoted from the form's own official instructions with the date we read it. They are sorted from the smallest limit to the largest, and each row links to PDFCheetah's page for compressing a PDF to that size, which runs in your browser without uploading the file.

Forms change their limits between application rounds, so check the form you are filling in before you rely on any of them.

Before you upload

Some forms set a minimum as well as a maximum, and the table quotes both where the form does. A file compressed below the minimum can be refused as surely as one over the limit.

A form that says 100 KB may count that as 100,000 bytes or as 102,400 (100 × 1,024), and a form does not always say which. PDFCheetah's Compress aims at the smaller figure, counting 1,000 bytes to a kilobyte and 1,000,000 to a megabyte, so a file that reaches the size you chose fits under either reading.
