PDF to CSV, tables read from the page
PDFCheetah's free PDF to CSV tool reads the tables on the PDF pages you pick into CSV in your browser — columns found from where the words sit — and your file never leaves your device.

How to convert a PDF to CSV
- Open the PDF — a bank statement, an invoice, a report with tables.
- Choose Find the tables, or Every line, in columns when the whole page is one table.
- Select Convert to CSV, check the preview, then Download.
How the tables are found
A PDF records where each word sits, not which cell it belongs to. PDFCheetah groups the words into rows by their height on the page and into columns by the gaps that run down the rows, keeps right-aligned figures in their column, and joins a table that runs onto the next page. The CSV opens in Excel, Numbers and Google Sheets with its accents intact. Nothing is uploaded.
Current limitations
This is best-effort: merged cells, cells that wrap onto several lines and tables without clear gaps between columns can land in the wrong column, so check the result. A scanned page has no words to read. Password-protected PDFs cannot be opened here yet: use Unlock PDF first if you know the password.
Common questions
- Is my PDF uploaded to get the tables out?
- No. The pages are read and the CSV is written in your browser, on this device. Nothing is sent anywhere.
- How are the columns found?
- A PDF records where each word sits, not which cell it belongs to. Words are grouped into rows by their height on the page and into columns by the gaps that run down the rows, and a table that runs onto the next page is joined to it.
- Is the result always right?
- Not always, so check it. Merged cells, cells that wrap onto several lines and tables without clear gaps between columns can land in the wrong column. The result says when columns were guessed from loose alignment.
- What if the whole page is a table, like a bank statement?
- Choose Every line, in columns. Every line on the page is read into columns, rather than only the text that lines up as a table.
- Will it open in Excel?
- Yes. The CSV opens in Excel, Numbers and Google Sheets with its accents intact. Several tables come as one CSV with a blank row between them, or as a ZIP with one CSV each.
