How to turn an SVG file into a PDF
- Choose an .svg file — a logo, a chart, a diagram, an icon.
- Choose the page size, orientation and margins.
- Select Create PDF, then Download.
What you get
One page with the drawing fitted to it, drawn by your browser at high resolution — sharp on screen and in print at the page’s size. Nothing is uploaded, and nothing the drawing links to is fetched.
Current limitations
The drawing is placed as a picture, not as vectors: its text cannot be selected, and it stops being sharp if you zoom far in. Pictures and fonts the SVG loads from the web are left out, by design. Animated SVGs are drawn as their first frame.
Common questions
- Is my SVG uploaded to make the PDF?
- No. Your browser draws the drawing and places it on a page, and the PDF is written on this device. Nothing is sent anywhere.
- Does the PDF keep the drawing as vectors?
- No. The drawing is placed as a high-resolution picture, about 340 dots per inch on an A4 page: sharp on screen and in print at the page's size, but its text cannot be selected and it blurs if you zoom far in.
- Are pictures and fonts the SVG links to included?
- No. Nothing the drawing loads from the web is fetched, so linked pictures are left out and linked fonts fall back to the browser's own. Pictures stored inside the SVG itself are kept.
- Which page sizes can I choose?
- A4, Letter or Legal, in portrait or landscape, with the margins you choose. A wide drawing goes on a landscape page unless you choose otherwise.
- What happens to an animated SVG?
- It is drawn as its first frame.
