Text to PDF, set as clean pages
PDFCheetah's free Text to PDF tool sets a text file as clean PDF pages in your browser — lines and indentation kept, in the font and page size you choose — and your file never leaves your device.

Why there is no daily limit, and no upload
How to turn a text file into a PDF
- Choose a .txt file — a note, a log, a script, any plain text.
- Choose the font, text size, page size and margins. The preview is the PDF itself, and it is redrawn after every change.
- Select Create PDF, then Download.
What is kept
Every line starts a new line on the page, and its indentation is kept. A line too long for the page continues underneath, under its own indentation. Tabs become spaces at every fourth column, and a form-feed character starts a new page. UTF-8, UTF-16 and Windows text files are all read correctly. Nothing is uploaded: the PDF is made in this browser tab.
Current limitations
The Fonts setting chooses which scripts are drawn: Light covers Latin and Devanagari, Medium adds Greek, Cyrillic, Arabic, Hebrew, Thai and Indian scripts, and Heavy adds Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Characters outside the chosen level, and emoji, are drawn as a replacement mark, and the page tells you how many there are before you create the PDF.
Common questions
- Is my text file uploaded to make the PDF?
- No. The file is read and set as pages in your browser, and the PDF is written on this device. Nothing is sent anywhere.
- Are line breaks and indentation kept?
- Yes. Every line starts a new line on the page, with its indentation. A line too long for the page continues underneath, tabs become spaces at every fourth column, and a form-feed character starts a new page.
- Will accented letters and curly quotes come out right?
- Yes. UTF-8, UTF-16 and Windows text files are all read correctly, and the page says which one it found.
- Which languages can it set?
- Whichever the Fonts setting covers. Light covers English, the Western European languages and Hindi with nothing to download; Medium, the default, adds the rest of Latin, Greek, Cyrillic, Arabic, Hebrew, Thai and the main Indian scripts; Heavy adds Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Emoji, and characters outside the chosen level, are drawn as a replacement mark, and the page says how many there are before you create the PDF.
- Can I choose the font and the page?
- Yes. Choose a sans or a monospaced font, the text size and line spacing, A4, Letter or Legal in portrait or landscape, the margins, and whether each page is numbered.
