How to turn TIFF files into a PDF
- Choose the TIFF files, one or many. Every page of a multi-page TIFF becomes a page of the PDF, in the order the file holds them.
- Drag the pages into the order you want, or move them with the arrows. Turn one with Rotate left 90° or Rotate right 90°, or remove a page you do not need.
- Choose the page: each picture’s own shape, or A4 or US Letter with a margin, fitted inside the page or filling it.
- Select Create PDF, then Download to save it.
Faxes, scans and archive files
TIFF is what fax software, document scanners and archive systems often save, and many of those files hold several pages in one. Each page is opened on this device and stored in the PDF without loss, turned the way the file records it. The small preview copies some scanners save beside each page are skipped, so you get the pages and nothing else. The PDF opens on any phone or computer, which a TIFF often does not.
Current limitations
A TIFF saved with an unusual compression may not open; save it again as PNG or JPG, or as an ordinary TIFF. Colors are stored as a screen shows them, so a CMYK TIFF headed for a printing press is not kept in CMYK. No text is read out of the pages, so a scanned page is not searchable. Larger files than this device can place safely are refused when you choose them, before anything runs.
Common questions
- Is my TIFF uploaded to make the PDF?
- No. The TIFF is opened and written into the PDF in your browser, on this device. Nothing is sent anywhere.
- Are all the pages of a multi-page TIFF kept?
- Yes. Every page of a multi-page TIFF becomes a page of the PDF, in the order the file holds them. The small preview copies some scanners save beside each page are skipped.
- Does converting a TIFF lose quality?
- No. Each page is stored in the PDF without loss. Colors are stored as a screen shows them, so a CMYK TIFF meant for a printing press is not kept in CMYK.
- Why will my TIFF not open?
- A TIFF saved with an unusual compression may not open here. Save it again as an ordinary TIFF, a PNG or a JPG, and try that file.
